Dario Di Fazio
arrives at UM with a wealth of diving experience
and a history of nothing but success. He is the Head Diving Coach
of the Beginner, Development, Junior Olympic programs. He
also will assist coach Randy Ableman in developing the
University Of Miami talented senior diving unit.
Di Fazio's resume is highlighted by appearances in the 1992
Olympics Games in Barcelona and the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games
in Atlanta. The Venezuelan native registered top 20 finishes
in both Olympic Games.Di Fazio was also a 32-time Venezuelan National Champion as well as a seven-time South American Champion and a member of the 1995 Venezuelan Pan American team that competed in Argentina. In 1994 placed 16th at the World Championships in Rome, Italy. In 1989 he moved to the U.S. to train and practice under the supervision of current UM head coach Randy Ableman before going on to dive at Oakland University on the collegiate level.
He has previous coaching experience as an age group head diving
coach at UM from 1989-92 and at Oakland University from 1993-95.He
was the Great Britain Head Coach for the 1999 USA Grand Prix. He
has been a USA National Team Coach from 1999-2002.
Di Fazio earned his bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Oakland University in 1995. Dario is married to the former Gigi Goebel. The couple has a son Adrian Rocco and daughter Mia Isabella. |
